Curfew in Tacloban as looters hit gas stations
  • 5 years ago
MANILA - Local officials declared a state of emergency in Tacloban City three days after it was devastated by super typhoon "Yolanda." Tacloban is believed to be the hardest hit by the typhoon. On the streets, there are debris and bodies scattered while survivors are desperate for help. Many have resorted to looting stores, groceries and even gas stations. A 10 pm to 6 am curfew will now be imposed in Tacloban City. Hundreds of policemen have also been deployed to restore peace and order. 'Yolanda' is the deadliest natural disaster to hit the country this year -- hopefully the last. Government said millions of people were affected by the typhoon. The challenge now is bringing immediate aid to the survivors. Cabinet Secretary Rene Almendras said there is enough supply but the problem is how to move it around. ANC The Bureau, November 11, 2013
