MIAA chief refutes 'worst' airport tag for NAIA
  • 5 years ago
Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) general manager Jose Angel Honrado spoke up about the recent survey naming Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 1 as the world's worst airport. In an interview on ANC's Headstart, Honrado said the report had cited outdated information about NAIA. "This survey was done by sleepers at the airport and this was the same report that we received in the first quarter of 2011... The complaints said the NAIA has these cold steel chairs for departure and arrival. In 2011, we changed all of them, more than 4,000 chairs. They are now all leather chairs. I could not imagine why the 2013 report says there are cold chairs," he said. The Guide to Sleeping in Airports" website said Manila's crowded Terminal 1 was ranked by travelers based on comfort, convenience, cleanliness and customer service to be the worst in the world. "If anybody would like to go there to see if they are clean, well-stocked and water is flowing, then they can get in touch with us," he said. ANC Headstart, October 24, 2013
