DOJ wants MNLF men transferred to Taguig

MANILA - The Department of Justice is set to ask for the transfer of the 57 members of the Misuari MNLF faction arrested for the bloody 20-day standoff in Zamboanga City to another detention facility. The MNLF fighters are currently detained in Zamboanga City but Justice Secretary Leila de Lima believes they can be more secured in Camp Bagong Diwa in Taguig. De Lima also cited a recent Supreme Court ruling that approved the trial of Nur Misuari's men to a court in Taguig. Misuari - who's at large - and his followers are facing rebellion charges for the Zamboanga City conflict. ANC THE BUREAU, October 18, 2013
