Comelec extends period of filing COCs in Bohol, Cebu

Only a few candidates trooped to Commission on Elections (Comelec) offices today for the last day of filing of certificates of candidacy (COCs) for the barangay elections. The Comelec said it expects only 20 percent of candidates to file their COCs today since the majority have already done so on the first day of filing. The poll body reiterated that there will be no extension of the 5 p.m. deadline. But the COC filing in Bohol and Cebu will be extended by 2 hours today as the provinces are still recovering from the impact of Tuesday's massive quake. ANC Dateline Philippines, October 17, 2013
