MANILA -- The Department of Justice (DOJ) has filed rebellion charges in court against Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) founding chairman Nur Misuari, his ground commander Habier Malik, and 63 of their followers for the standoff in Zamboanga City. Aside from rebellion, Misuari and his men have also been formally charged for violation of international humanitarian law and crimes against humanity at the Zamboanga Regional Trial Court on Monday. In an interview with "Mornings @ ANC," Zamboanga City Assistant Prosecutor Gladdy Bernabe said these cases will be consolidated with similar charges earlier filed by the PNP - Criminal Investigation and Detection Group in Region 9. Bernabe said should the court decide there is probable cause to charge Misuari and his followers with rebellion, it may issue warrants of arrest against them within today. "If the judge finds that there is probable cause for the issuance of a warrant of arrest, warrants of arrest will be issued against those at large... We will be expecting it today," Bernabe said.
