Revenues from domestic tourists to hit P1.4-T in 2014

MANILA, Philippines - The government expects revenues from domestic tourists next year to jump 8.5%, as more Filipinos travel to different parts of the country. Domestic receipts may reach P1.4 trillion next year, from the target P1.29 trillion this year. The Department of Tourism said the average daily expenditure of domestic tourists is expected to hit P2,593 in 2014, up 0.5% from P2,580 this year. The number of domestic tourists is also expected to reach nearly 48 million next year, with top destinations still Boracay, Cebu, Bohol, Puerto Princesa and Davao. ANC News Now, September 20, 2013
