S. Korean anthem played in Pyongyang

MANILA, Philippines – North Korea played the South Korean anthem for the first time during a medal ceremony for the 2013 Asian Cup and interclub weightlifting championship. Footage from North Korea’s state broadcaster, KRT, showed South Korean athletes on the podium as their anthem played at the arena. North Korean spectators applauded as the South Korean lifters received their medals, then stood respectfully for the South’s anthem. The last time South Korean athletes competed in North Korea was in 2003.
