After testimony, ex-Nabcor head skips Senate hearing

MANILA - Two resource persons in the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee inquiry on the PDAF scam failed to show up during Thursday's hearing. Alan Javellana, ex-president of the National Agribusiness Corporation (Nabcor), was a no-show at the Senate on Thursday despite testifying last week. Sen. Teofisto "TG" Guingona III said Javellana's cell phone cannot be reached. Former Technology Resource Center (TRC) head Antonio Ortiz was also absent during the hearing and is reportedly out of the country already. Javellana previously testified that Senators Bong Revilla, Senator Juan Ponce Enrile and Senator Jinggoy Estrada funnelled their pork barrel funds through Nabcor to non-governmental organizations set up by Janet Lim Napoles. Nabcor is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Department of Agriculture, which was among the implementing government agencies covered by the Commission on Audit special report on the pork barrel for 2007 to 2009.
