PNoy greets Filipino Muslims on Eid'l Fitr

MANILA -- President Benigno Aquino III is one with the Muslim community on the celebration of Eid'l Fitr or the end of the holy month of Ramadan. In a statement, Aquino said the government recognizes the role of Filipino Muslims in nation-building through inclusive growth. Aquino also called on Muslims to assist the government towards national renewal. Today is a regular holiday throughout the country in observance of Eid'l Fitr. Muslims have been flocking to the Manila Golden Mosque since 4 a.m. to offer their prayers. In Santiago City, Isabela, some families headed to resorts to celebrate. In Cotabato City, thousands of Islam believers also celebrated despite security threats. Muslim religious groups also reiterated their call for peace. -- ANC
