No House probe yet on pork barrel scam

MANILA - A day after the Senate decided to delay an investigation into the so-called pork barrel scam, the House of Representatives majority bloc said it is not inclined to investigate the controversy either. Marikina Rep. Miro Quimbo said Congress does not have a good track record when it comes to investigating itself. He said the Lower House might be accused of a cover up. The House Minority has filed a resolution to investigate the alleged scam involving businesswoman Janet Lim-Napoles, her supposedly bogus foundations, some senators and congressmen and their pork barrel. But the majority said the probe is best left to the Justice Department and the National Bureau of Investigation. ANC The Bureau, August 6, 2013
