মুসলিম ইতিহাসের বরেণ্য দিগ্বিজয়ী বীরশ্রেষ্ঠদের অন্যতম একজন। উন্মত্ত ক্রুসেডের মাজা ভেঙ্গে দেয়া সিংহহৃদয় ব্যক্তিত্ব। তৎকালীন বিশ্বরাজনীতির গতিপথ বদলে দেয়া অসামান্য সমরনায়ক, যার ক্ষিপ্রতা ও বীরত্বের কাছে মুখ থুবড়ে পড়েছিল ক্রুসেডের অগ্রাভিযান। যার তরবারির আঘাতে রচিত হয়েছিল মধ্যযুগের স্বর্ণিল মুসলিম ইতিহাস। বর্ণিল বীরত্বগাঁথার অনবদ্য মহাকাব্য।
প্রতিটি মুসলিম ভূখণ্ড যখন ক্রুসেড ঝড়ে বিধ্বস্ত, খ্রিষ্টান ক্রুসেডাররা যখন একের পর এক মুসলিম জনপদ দখল করে মুসলিমদের রক্ত নিয়ে হলি খেলায় মেতে উঠেছিলো। এমনকি পবিত্র নগরী বাইতুল মাকদিস দখল করে যখন ইতিহাসের জঘন্যতম হত্যাযজ্ঞ চালিয়েছিল ও মাসজিদ আল আকসার সম্মানকে ভুলন্ঠিত করেছিলো, তখনি আল্লাহর বিশেষ অনুগ্রহে শতধাবিভক্ত মুসলিম উম্মাহর ত্রাণকর্তারূপে এই মহান যোদ্ধার আবির্ভাব ঘটে। ক্রুসেডারদের সমস্ত চক্রান্ত নস্যাৎ করে তাদের পর্যুদস্ত করেন এবং মুসলিমদের ঐক্যবদ্ধ করে ক্রুসেডের ছবল থেকে মুসলিম ভূখণ্ডগুলোকে পুনরুদ্ধার করেন। অবশেষে দীর্ঘ ৯১ বছর পর তিনি বাইতুল মাকদিস ও মাসজিদ আল আকসাকে ক্রুসেডারদের কাছ থেকে পুনরুদ্ধার করেন। এভাবেই তিনি মুসলিমদের হারানো ঐতিহ্য ফিরিয়ে আনেন।
তিনি ছিলেন মিশর ও সিরিয়ার প্রথম সুলতান এবং আইয়ুবীয় রাজবংশের প্রতিষ্ঠাতা। মিশর,সিরিয়া,মেসোপটেমিয়া,হেজাজ,ইয়েমেন এবং উত্তর আফ্রিকার বিশাল অংশ জুড়ে ছিল তার সম্রাজ্য।

►► Sultan Salahuddin Ayyubi is one of the most influential people in the Islamic and christian history and one of the greatest warriors of Islam who led the Muslim military campaign against the Crusader states in the Levant. He reconquered most of the Muslim lands from the Christian crusaders and drove them out from Syria and Palestine (Levant). Also he conquered the holy city of Jerusalem and the glorious Masjid al Alqsa from them.
