Arun Jaitley was not only a tall national leader of India but he also contributed significantly in the development of Delhi cricket. Actually, Jaitley was the president of DDCA from 1999 to 2012. During this time, apart from making positive contributions to the careers of many international cricketers like Gautam Gambhir, Virender Sehwag, Akash Chopra, he also tried to help in the careers of other domestic cricketers of Delhi. The veteran BJP leader and former finance minister breathed his last on Saturday at the age of 66. Indian cricket team wore black bands in order to tribute Arun Jaitley.


जेटली के निधन ने क्रिकेट जगत के एक हिस्से में गहरी मायूसी ला दी है। भारतीय कप्तान विराट कोहली समेत दिल्ली के सभी बड़े क्रिकेटरों के लिए जैसे यह व्यक्तिगत क्षति हो गई है। इस दौरान गौतम गंभीर, वीरेंद्र सहवाग, विराट कोहली, आकाश चोपड़ा, डीडीसीए के अलावा बीसीसीआई ने भी अपना शोक संदेश व्यक्त किया है। अरुण जेटली ना केवल भारत के कद्दावर राष्ट्रीय नेता थे बल्कि दिल्ली क्रिकेट के विकास में भी उनका अहम योगदान था। दरअसल, जेटली 1999 से 2012 तक डीडीसीए के अध्यक्ष रहे थे। इस दौरान उन्होंने गौतम गंभीर, वीरेंद्र सहवाग, आकाश चोपड़ा जैसे अनेंको अंतरराष्ट्रीय क्रिकेटरों के करियर में सकारात्मक योगदान देने के अलावा दिल्ली के अन्य घरेलू क्रिकेटरों के करियर में भी भरपूर मदद करने की कोशिश की।
