Boris doesn't want to see free trade with Brazil frustrated
  • 5 years ago
Boris Johnson has landed in Biarritz for the annual G7 summit. On landing, the prime minister said that biodiversity and habitat loss was one of his three "obsessions" at the summit. Mr Johnson described the scenes of the Amazon rainforest on fire as "excruciating". France and Ireland have threatened not to ratify a free trade deal with Brazil unless the South American country does more to tackle the blazes. However, the prime minister said: "There are all sorts of people who will take any excuse at all to interfere with free trade, and to frustrate trade deals, and I don't want to see that".
