Removal of broad-based criteria to help ease FPI registration procedure, say legal experts

It is helpful to see Sebi has remove this broad based criteria of FPIs requiring minimum 20 investors with nobody holding more than 49 percent because the longest time in the entire registration process was taking to ascertain whether an entity meets the broad-based criteria or no, said Divaspati Singh, Partner, Khaitan & Co.
