"When we thought of a dish that is made across India in all households - small or big - in every state, we came up with khichdi," Minister of Food Processing Industries Harsimrat Kaur Badal said. She added that since the world is moving towards organic, healthy eating "khichdi would make a great choice." Through this record the health ministry aims to globalise the dish.
