Syrian Photographer Drops Camera, Rescues Kids Hurt In Bomb Blasts
  • 5 years ago
Activist and cameraman Abd Alkader Habak was standing close to the bus convoy outside Aleppo on Saturday 15 April, when blasts hit the buses carrying Shi'ite residents as they waited to cross from rebel into government territory in an evacuation deal between the warring sides.
Habak was thrown to the ground and separated from his camera. Within seconds, when he gathered his senses, he stood up and looked for his camera. He found it lying on the ground. But along with that, he was greeted by a horrifying sight. An child child was gasping for breath. Habak abandoned his camera and ran to pick up the child. No sooner had he taken that child to an ambulance, another child caught his attention. Sadly that child had breathed its last. Shocked but eager to help rescue the children in peril, Habak continued to help the children instead of shooting pictures. Other camera-persons present at the site however, captured his act.
