Foreign Minister: 'No dispute' about status of Hong Kong

Foreign minister Dr Andrew Murrison says that the UK "recognises China's sovereignty" over Hong Kong and emphasised the "one country, two systems" solution set out in the 1984 Sino-British Joint Declaration. Dr Murrison's comments come days after Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab was told by Beijing to stop interfering in Hong Kong's affairs. Earlier on Thursday at a press conference, Chinese ambassador to the UK Liu Xiaoming urged British politicians not to interfere in Hong Kong amid continued clashes between police and pro-democracy protesters.
