MANILA, Philippines – Former All-Star point guard Jason Kidd is retiring after 19 seasons in the National Basketball Association (NBA). The 40-year-old Kidd completed his career ranked second overall in assists and steals next to Hall-of-Famer John Stockton. He also averaged 12.6 points and 8.7 assists per game. Kidd earned All-Star honors 10 times while playing for Dallas, Phoenix, New Jersey and New York, and also won an NBA title with the Mavericks. Kidd’s retirement came two days after Los Angeles Clippers forward Grant Hill, also 40-years-old, announced he was leaving the game. Mornings @ ANC, June 4, 2013
