Jeremy Corbyn calls on parties to make him caretaker PM

Jeremy Corbyn has written to opposition party leaders asking them to support a vote of no confidence in the government and install him as caretaker prime minister until a general election. The Labour leader said the administration would be "strictly time-limited" and that he would seek an extension to the Article 50 process to delay the UK leaving the European Union past the October 31 deadline. Liberal Democrat leader Jo Swinson has already responded, saying that Mr Corbyn is the wrong person for the job. Report by Jonesia.
