Fast Food Chain Popeyes to
Debut Its First Sandwich.
The item, which premieres next week and
contains pickles, is very similar to rival
Chick-fil-A's classic chicken sandwich.
It will be served on a toasted brioche bun along
with a choice of either a classic mayo
or spicy Cajun spread.
With its new sandwich, Popeyes is hoping the item will help out same-store sales growth, which increased 3% in the most recent quarter.
The nationwide release also comes as Popeyes attempts to keep up with Chick-fil-A's rising profile in the U.S.
In terms of sales, it was
recently named America's
third-largest restaurant chain.
Chick-fil-A also ranks first
in the fast-food category on the American Customer
Satisfaction Index for 2019.
