The global reactions on India's move to abrogate Article 370 has so far been a mixed bag for New Delhi. In the latest response from the United States, which comes days after it said it was watching developments inKashmir closely, the trump administration has said that its Kashmir policy has not changed. The united state's kashmir policy has been that India is a bilateral issue between India and Pakistan and that both countries should decide on the pace and scope of talks. The UK had called for calm, exposing division between MPs with some expressing grave concern and others strong support. Malaysia and Saudi Arabia, who are members of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, did not take sides but called for restraint in their measured response. The Saudi kingdom advised to take into account the interests of the poeple of the region. however, the united arab emirates and the maldives had expressed support for India, calling Kashmir an internal issue. Meanwhile, international bodies like the UN and UNSC have noted restrictions imposed in Kashmir and made an appeal for maximum restraint. The UNSC president refused to make a comment on Pakistan's letter on the Kashmir matter while the UN chief invoked the Simla agreement which calls Kashmir a bilateral matter.
