Hong Kong officials attended a high-level meeting with the Hong Kong and Macau Affairs Office (HKMAO), in Shenzhen on August 7, 2019, to discuss the ongoing extradition bill crisis. HKMAO Director Zhang Xiaoming, who leads the agency coordinating the relationship between China’s central government and special administrative regions, told some 500 delegates from Hong Kong that the city’s extradition bill movement is the “most serious” threat since the 1997 handover from British colonial rule.  …
