Hundreds of Walgreens Stores to Shut Down in the US.
According to CNBC, approximately 200 locations will be closed as apart of a cost management
and transformation plan.
In a statement, pharmacy said that it
doesn't believe the closings will have
much of an impact on customers.
We are undertaking a transformational cost management program to accelerate the ongoing transformation of our business, enable investments in key areas and to become a more efficient enterprise, Walgreens,

The company has not
disclosed where in America
the 200 closings will occur.
Currently, 10,000 Walgreens can be found in the United States.
Walgreens Boots Alliance, the chain's parent company, also plans to close down 200 of its locations in the United Kingdom as well.
The closings come as customers have begun using the internet more for purchasing
prescription drugs.
