The NRA Expressed 'Deepest Sympathies' Weeks After Lobbying For Looser Gun Laws
  • 5 years ago
In the wake of two mass shootings in El Paso, Texas and Dayton, Ohio, the National Rifle Association expressed their sympathies. Both shootings involved assault-style rapid-fire weapons, says Business Insider. In a statement, the NRA noted that it "will not participate in the politicizing of these tragedies." Meanwhile, in June the NRA managed to pressure Texas into loosening existing gun laws. The passed legislation includes bills making it easier to carry guns in public meeting places like churches and schools.
