South Korea's start-up minister has urged the country's SMEs and big businesses to join forces against what she called Japan's "economic assault."
Park Young-sun said today that at a time when Korea's economy is going through a structural change, it must overcome weaknesses.
She stressed that the country's small and medium-sized firms and large corporations need an efficient division of roles to create synergy.
Park said the ministry has identified about twenty to thirty areas so far where there could be cooperation.
She said the ministry is gathering lists of materials and items that large businesses need and finding SMEs that can produce those items locally.
