Ed Sheeran Breaks U2's Record for
Highest Grossing Tour of All-Time On August 2, Ed Sheeran’s Divide Tour officially
broke the record for the highest grossing tour
of all-time with a total of $736 million. With 12 dates left of the 255 stop tour,
that amount is only expected to rise. The record was previously set by U2 in 2011
with their 360° tour, which grossed $735 million. On average, ticket prices for
Sheeran's tour are 14.2% lower
than the tickets sold for U2’s tour. The Divide tour has also been named the most attended
tour of all-time with 8.5 million total people, breaking
yet another record that was previously held by U2. Compared to U2’s 360° tour, which had an average
concert attendance of 66,091, Sheeran’s
average concert attendance is only 34,541. Following the exciting news, Sheeran took
