Record for Longest Running No. 1 Hit The hit song “Old Town Road” has
officially spent 17 weeks at the top
of the 'Billboard' Hot 100 chart. This means that Lil Nas X has broken the record
for the most weeks at No. 1, which was previously
held by Mariah Carey’s song “One Sweet Day.” In a video posted to Twitter, Lil Nas X
thanked his fans for their support. Lil Nas X, via Twitter Mariah Carey posted a photo on Twitter congratulating
Nas X, with an image of her literally passing a torch to him. The song’s continued success is due to the
number of remixed versions Lil Nas has released,
as they’re all used when determining chart position. The original remix of the song featured
Billy Ray Cyrus and additional versions have featured
artists such as Diplo, Mason Ramsey and BTS.
