Grasshopper invasion of Las Vegas caused by sky beams, humid weather: experts

There are conflicting opinions over how Las Vegas came to be unusually invaded by grasshoppers.
Entomologists point to the columns of light that hotels shoot into the night sky.
Grasshoppers are known to be drawn to green spaces and ultraviolet light which basically cover the entire city.
Another expert says the migration can be attributed to wet weather several months ago.
More than 100 millimeters of rain fell in Las Vegas this year,... leading to high humidity and supposedly prompted them to hop over.
The expert stressed the grasshoppers are harmless and are unlikely to damage any property before they disappear in several weeks.
