Beijing says it ‘resolutely supports’ Carrie Lam’s government over the extradition bill crisis

Beijing expressed support for Carrie Lam’s government and Hong Kong police in a press conference held by its top policy body on Hong Kong. Yang Guang, spokesman for the Hong Kong and Macau Affairs Office, said the central government will continue to resolutely support the Lam administration. He also praised the city’s police, saying their work is highly appreciated by Beijing and said the territory would continue to be governed under the ‘one country, two systems’ mechanism.
