Britain recently seized an Iranian oil tanker off Gibraltar and Iran’s president spoke out about it. On the official presidency website, President Hassan Rouhani said the seizure was illegal. According to Reuters, the president also said the seizure would be detrimental for Britain. The tanker was captured because it allegedly violated sanctions on Syria. Before the British seizure, Iranian commandos seized a British tanker in the Strait of Hormuz.
