The number of companies on the Korean stock market at risk of being delisted... has risen to a five-year high.
The Korea Exchange said Friday that 26 companies have been looked at so far this year to see whether they meet the standards to be listed.
That's a jump of a 53 percent from the same period last year.
Many of these companies were unable to give their shareholders information that they're required to give them, which is common in an economic slowdown.
Last year more than 100 companies on the KOSDAQ gave their shareholders false information, which was a rise of more than 42 percent.
