This fall you'll be able to hop on an Amtrak train and go from New York to Washington D.C. in just two hours and 35 minutes.
This is about half the time it takes to drive there by car.
Roger Harris, Amtrak's head of marketing explained, "If you look at door, Manhattan to downtown D.C., we are faster than the airlines when you consider getting to and from the airport and security."
The speedier, new, non-stop NYC to D.C. service will be offered through Amtrak's Acela Express train.
