Nonito "The Filipino Flash" Donaire Jr. turned emotional as he accepted another Fighter of the Year award. The Boxing Writers Association of America honored the super bantamweight champion two days before his anticipated match against Olympian Guillermo Rigondeaux. Donaire and Rigondeaux will figure in a title-unification fight with the Filipino putting his WBO and the RING super bantamweight belts on the line while the Cuban is risking his WBA strap.
