American financier Jeffrey Epstein will not be released on bail to await his trial for sex trafficking dozens of underage girls.
Reuters reports U.S. District Judge Richard Berman on Thursday rejected Epstein’s request for house arrest.
Epstein asked the court to pay for armed guards to stay in his New York mansion, valued at $77 million.
Prosecutors said that the financier was both a flight risk and a danger to the community.
