First Trailer Released for
Tom Cruise's 'Top Gun: Maverick' The film is sequel to the 1986
smash-hit film that launched the actor's
career in Hollywood. In the trailer, Cruises' Pete "Maverick" Mitchell is still
a gung-ho pilot, who doesn't seem interested in
advancing his Air Force career. He is depicted as still being a Captain in the service despite his lengthy career. In 'Maverick,' Cruise is joined by newcomers Ed Harris and Jon Hamm. As well as 'Whiplash' star Miles Teller, who plays
the son of Anthony Edwards' Goose
from the first movie. 'Maverick' was helmed by
Joseph Kosinski, who directed
Cruise in the sci-fi flick 'Oblivion.' 'Top Gun: Maverick' will fly onto the big screen next summer on June 26.
