French scientists to send sapphire discs to Moon

Paris (France), Jul 18 (EFE).- (Camera: Marta Garde).- What defines us as humanity? One of the many possible answers has been recorded on sapphire discs that French scientists will send to the Moon so that future generations, who knows if aliens, have a testimony.
The project "Sanctuary", a time capsule of information that includes at least ten discs of 9 centimeters in diameter and 2 billion pixels in black and white each. At first glance it would be possible to see their larger illustrations, but to see the rest of their contents it would be necessary to use a magnifying glass.
The discs are expected to arrive to the Moon on ALINA, a navigational module that will land in 2020 or 2021.
