Taiwan’s Kuomintang party nominates Han Kuo-yu for 2020 presidential election
  • 5 years ago
Han Kuo-yu has been selected as the Kuomintang (KMT) party’s nominee to run in the 2020 Taiwan presidential election.  Han beat his closest rival, billionaire Foxconn founder Terry Gou Tai-ming, in the primary election on July 15, 2019. A polarising populist mayor of the coastal city of Kaohsiung in the island’s south, Han will face Taiwan’s incumbent Democratic president Tsai Ing-wen in the presidential race in January 2020.
