How to Change your Password on Ubuntu 18.04 LTS?

Method 1: Via Terminal:-

Step 1: Right click on the desktop, and then click on 'open terminal.'

Step 2: After that, type the command below, and then hit enter.

passwd

Step 3: Provide Current password, and then hit enter. After that, provide new password, and then hit enter. Retype it again, and then hit enter.

Step 4: After success, you will get message like 'password updated successfully.'


Method 2: Via GUI Way

Step 1: Click on Panel at the top right.

Step 2: Click on Settings, and then click on 'details,' and then click on 'users.'

Step 3: Click on Password box. Provide your current password, enter new password, and then reenter it again. After that, click on 'change' button. Close the settings window.
