Billionaire Tom Steyer joined the 2020 Democratic race, making the ballot more crowded. According to Business Insider, Sreyer promised to spend $100 million in his campaign. The amount exceeds the total second-quarter fundraising of other 2020 Dmeocratic contenders. These include Joe Biden, Pete Buttigieg, Kamala Harris, Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders. It’s about half as much as HIllary Clinton spent on her entire 2016 primary campaign.
