Retired US Generals Don't Think Trump Should Pardon Troops With War Crimes
  • 5 years ago

President Donald Trump is thinking about pardoning troops accused or convicted of war crimes. One of them is Navy SEAL Edward Gallagher who stabbed a captured militant teen and shot innocent civilians. According to Business Insider, retired generals are telling Trump why doing that would be a bad idea. A former Marine Corps commandant said it would give up “the United States’ moral high ground.” The administration reportedly made expedited requests to make the pardons happen on Memorial Day.
