According to CNN, Naomi Osaka defeated Anna Karolina Schmiedlova in the first round of the French Open.
The top ranked female tennis player in the world prevailed after three sets.
But Osaka dropped the first set to Schmiedlova, quickly falling behind 0-to-6.
Over the next two sets, Osaka rallied against the 90th ranked player, winning 7-to-6 and 6-to-1.
But Schmiedlova held the lead during the second set and 5-to-4 and 6-to-5, bringing Osaka within two points of defeat during the 12th game.
