Bombs Away? Bird Strike Makes Fighter Jet Drop Three Dummy Bombs On Sunny Fla
  • 5 years ago
The Federal Aviation Administration says that every year, 14,000 bird strikes happen at US airports.
And according to Gizmodo, one such strike on Monday could have been especially catastrophic.
That's when a bird strike caused an A-10C Thunderbolt II to accidentally release three bombs over Florida.
Thankfully, the bombs were just dummies designed for trainings.
The incident happened on July 1st, about 54 miles southwest of Moody Air Force base during a routine training mission.
