Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan sacked Turkey's Central Bank Governor Murat Cetinkaya on Saturday.
Differences between them deepened over the timing of interest rate cuts to revive the recession-hit economy.
Cetinkaya's four-year term was due to run until 2020. He'll be replaced by his deputy Murat Uysal.
According to Reuters, Cetinkaya was terminated by presidential decree. No official reason was given for the sacking.
