President Moon invites leaders of S. Korean conglomerates for talks on Japan's export curbs

President Moon Jae-in will host a group of the nation's business leaderswithin the hour to devise a strategy to counter Japan's tech-related export curbs that target South Korean firms.
Thirty-four business leaders whose companies' assets total 8-and-a-half billion U.S. dollars or more will gather at the presidential Blue House in less than half-an-hour marking the first such meeting since January.
Included on the list of attendees are the leaders of South Korea's big five conglomerates: Samsung, Hyundai Motor, SK, LG and Lotte Group.
However, Samsung Electronics' Vice Chairman Lee Jae-yong and Lotte Group Shin Dong-bin will not be there.
They are still in Japan to find ways to minimize the impact of the export curbs on their respective companies.
The meeting is largely aimed at listening to the difficulties that local businesses face and exchanging opinions on how to react to Japan's move.
