President Moon Jae-in has asked South Korea's Christian community to play an active role in establishing peace on the Peninsula,... and in restoring social unity between South and North.
President Moon hosted a luncheon Wednesday at the Blue House for a dozen leaders of major Christian groups... to get their advice on state affairs.
He noted that Christians are already providing humanitarian aid to the North and engaging in religious exchanges,... and he asked that they continue helping with efforts for peace.
He also called on them to help integrate the two societies.
Although it's something that should be achieved through politics, he said,... it would help if religion can make up for what politics cannot accomplish.
The president plans to organize another meeting with the Buddhist community later this month.
