트럼프•시진핑, 무역전쟁 휴전 합의•••"협상 재개-관세 중단"

The much anticipated U.S.-China trade talks between Presidents Donald Trump and Xi Jinping took place earlier this Saturday on the sidelines of the G20 summit in Osaka.
For the latest, we have our business correspondent Kim Hyesung on the line.
Hyesung, so how did the discussions go?
Mokyeon, the trade talks began around 11:30 AM Korea time and lasted for around 60 minutes, ending earlier than the scheduled 90 minutes.
Following their talks, Trump told reporters he had a very good, excellent meeting with Xi, saying they are right back on track and that negotiations would continue.
China's state-run Xinhua News Agency reported the two sides agreed to restart trade negotiations that broke down in May and the U.S. will not impose any new tariffs on Chinese goods at this time.
Just to recap, the participants included Presidents Trump and Xi, U.S. Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer, U.S. Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin, and Chinese foreign minister Wang Yi and Chinsee Vice Premier Liu He.
More details will be out at 3:30 PM, Korea time, when Trump makes a statement regarding the talks during a press conference.
What I can say for now is the result of the talks are in line with what many experts had predicted, that there would be an agreement to temporarily pause any trade war escalation, and they would stop imposing tariffs on one another.
Since the talks collapsed last month, Trump has raised tariffs on 200 billion dollars of Chinese goods from 10 to 25 percent...threatening to impose another 10 percent on remaining imports from China.
But with the trade truce, the tariffs imposed on one another remains at 360 billion dollars.
Back to you, Mokyeon.
Thank you for that Hye-sung, please keep us posted.
