Dwaine Pretorius and Chris Morris picked 3 wickets each to restrict Sri Lanka for 203-all out in 49.3 overs. Sri Lanka scored quick runs in the first 10 overs with with Kusal Perera and Avishka Fernando attacking but failed to score thereon after the two departed. Sri Lanka played too defensively and whenever tried to counter-attack, they ended up losing wickets against a disciplined South Africa side.
