Until the 1950s, the World GP series was dominated by European manufacturers and all the races eventuated exclusively in Europe. Soichiro Honda, a Japanese engineer, and industrialist ensured that this fact change as he targeted the 1959 Isle of Man TT. The unprecedented entry of the Japanese team Honda caught many eyeballs across the globe as they claimed 6th, 7th, 8th and 11th in the 125cc lightweight class. In 1966 it moved up to 500cc category and represented in all classes except sidecars, and unimaginably claimed the World Championship title in each of them! In 1995, Repsol and Honda joined forces and the unbroken union has produced 15 pilot titles. Over its historic success, there have been many great riders for HONDA, including Valentino Rossi, Mike Hailwood, Michael Doohan and Marc Márquez. Half a century has passed since they entered the premier class GP racing and they have won 18 Riders World Championships and 22 Constructors titles. Honda also tops the rankings as the most successful manufacturer ever with 65 titles overall classes!
