Heavy rains in areas south of China’s Yangtze River have triggered severe flash flooding, displacing people and damaging homes and infrastructure.  Rescuers were sent to evacuate villagers and perform emergency repair work to ensure the safety of power supplies following the downpours on June 22-24, 2019.
