President Trump reportedly warned Iran that U.S. attack was imminent while calling for dialogue.
Tehran released video footage of what's supposed to be the debris of the American drone backing up its claim that the drone was flying inside Iranian airspace.
Kan Hyeong-woo has the latest on the escalating tensions between the two sides.
U.S. President Donald Trump reportedly sent a warning message to Iran through Oman overnight saying that a U.S. attack on Iran was imminent.
According to Reuters,... unidentified Iranian officials said Trump was against any war with Iran and wanted to talk to Tehran about a number of issues and gave a short period of time to get Iran's response.
The officials added that any response was up to Tehran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, stressing that he is against any talks but Trump's message would be delivered to him.
This comes after reports that the U.S. was preparing to launch retaliatory strikes against Iran for shooting down one of its drones,... but President Trump abruptly pulled them back at the last moment.
No details of the mission or the reason for its sudden cancellation have been made public,... but reports say a military response in the future has not been ruled out.
Meanwhile... Iranian state TV released video footage of what it said were the retrieved parts of the U.S. drone on Friday local time.
"In fact, this (the drone remains) is conclusive evidence of aerial violation by America into our territorial waters."
But U.S. officials have insisted that it was shot down in international airspace.
Tensions between the U.S. and Iran have been escalating,... with Washington blaming Tehran for a series of attacks on oil tankers in the Gulf of Oman.
Iran also announced that it will soon surpass the limit of its enriched uranium stockpile... that was set under a 2015 nuclear deal... that Washington has pulled out of.
